Abstract

States the attributes of Subject Indexing Languages (SIL) and the attributed needed for depth indexing. Explains POPSI (Postulate Based Permutated Subject Indexing) as a SIL. Discusses the postulates, principles and working concepts of POPSI. Explains the task involved in analysis and synthesis of POPSI-basic and POPSI-specificating also the steps in the process. Discusses the index prepared according to POPSI language - a combination of faceted classification and thesaurus designated as 'Classaurus'
