Looks at the terminological problems posed by the concept of records in French and examines ways to defining the concept of records and the information they contain in order to better determine the role of records in the vast world of information. Looks at the implications for the archives profession and the discipline of situating the concept of records in the information environment based on experience in Quebec. Attempts to identify the role of archivists in the information age
