Abstract

SORAC (Semantic Object, Relationships, and Constraints) is an unified approach and environment for the design and automated implementation of active database schema that utilises object-oriented and semantic techniques. Reviews architectural design and real-time applications as they relate to active database system. Describes SORAC and a vision for advanced database systems construction. Describes ongoing research in the SORAC environment. Outlines lessons learned from the experimentation
