Abstract

Discusses some of the findings of the current University of British Columbia (UBC) research project, 'The preservation of the integrity of electronic records', and the results of collaboration between the UBC research team and the US Dept. of Defense Records Management Task Force (DoDRMTF) in interpreting archival and diplomatic concepts through standard modelling techniques using IDEF (Integrated Definition Language). The research project's findings corroborate the assumptions of the Canadian Rule for Archival Description in relation to the timing, perspective, structure and purpose of archival description
