Abstract
Compares electronic versions of Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary and Thesaurus. Discusses the CD-ROM version, the WWWebster online version (http://www.m-w.com), the Encyclopedia Britannica version available on http://www.eb.com and the AOL version. Concludes that the CD-ROM version is the best, but that the online versions have their value under certain circumstances
