Abstract

Im Vergleich zu den Naturwissenschaften finden die Sozialwissenschaften deutlich weniger öffentliches Interesse. Die Gründe kann man auf Seiten der Öffentlichkeit wie der Wissenschaft vermuten. Das hier vorgestellte Projekt sowinet.de verfolgt das Ziel, das potenziell wissenschaftsinteressierte Internetpublikum auch für gesellschaftswissen schaftliche Themen zu gewinnen, indem ein in mancher Hinsicht neuartiges Angebot präsentiert wird. Bei der Darstellung sollen verschiedene Vorteile des Mediums Internet kombiniert und integriert werden, um unterschiedliche Gruppen von Nutzern anzusprechen. Um dies zu erreichen, muss erstens ein Paket von aktuellen Informationen, Hintergrundmaterial und Dienstleistungen geschnürt werden, das auch Multiplikatoren wie Journalisten und Lehrer an das Angebot von sowinet.de binden kann. Statt kanonisiertes Wissen zu vermitteln soll dazu ein Ausschnitt des aktuellen Forschungsgeschehens vorgestellt werden. Zweitens müssen durch eine ästhetisch und technisch zeitgemäße Präsentation die Mediengewohnheiten von Intemetnutzern berücksichtigt werden. Dieser Beitrag stellt als Werkstattbericht aus dem laufenden Projekt einige Aspekte näher vor. Ein Schwerpunkt liegt auf Überlegungen zu den Interessen unterschiedlicher Zielgruppen im Umgang mit wissenschaftlicher Information.
