Abstract
Die Querschnittlichkeit von regionalwissenschaftlicher Forschung verschiedenster Ausprägung stellt hierarchische Klassifikationssysteme vor besondere Herausforderungen. Zu ihnen gehören die disziplinäre Fragmentierung von Beständen, Doppelstellenproblematiken, zu große oder zu geringe Granularität oder schlicht ein begrifflich zu westlich geprägter Blick. Hinzu treten neuere Forschungskonjunkturen, welche transregionale Vernetztheit betonen oder ganz unterschiedlich dimensionierte Räumliche Einheiten jenseits des Nationalstaats zum Ausgangspunkt haben, nicht zuletzt aber auch Anforderungen virtueller interdisziplinärer Zentren. Neben einem Ausblick auf die Vorgehensweise anderer Klassifikationssysteme und auf die Praxis ausgewählter Leuchtturminstitutionen gilt der Blick der Regensburger Verbundklassifikation. Es werden eine Reihe von Lösungsansätzen vorgestellt und miteinander verglichen: Wo die eine Bibliothek auf Veränderungen der RVK setzt, praktiziert die andere Hauslösungen, wieder anderswo gibt es offizielle "Sonderwege", es werden Bestände mittels Lokalkennzeichen separiert - oder sich der RVK konsequent angepasst. Der Beitrag strebt einen Überblick über die beteiligte Faktorenvielfalt eines komplexen Tätigkeitsfeldes an.
