Abstract
Als eine der ersten wissenschaftlichen Bibliotheken in Österreich hat die Bibliothek der Fachhochschule St. Pölten den Umstieg auf das Bibliothekssystem Alma gewagt. Sie war eine der 14 Auftraggeberinnen im Aleph-Nachfolge-Projekt, hat aber - auch wenn der Name anderes suggeriert - ihre Reise im Ursprungssystem Alephino begonnen. Dabei hat auch Ex Libris Neuland betreten, dies war nämlich die weltweit erste Migration von Alephino nach Aleph. Ein nicht unerheblicher Unterschied, wenn man bedenkt, dass die Datenbankarchitekturen von Alephino und Aleph sich grundlegend unterscheiden. 2015 erfolgte, nach einem internationalen Ausschreibungsverfahren, der Zuschlag an Ex Libris. Dann vergingen zwei Jahre die von intensiven Vorbereitungsarbeiten geprägt waren, bis im August 2017 die Produktion aufgenommen werden konnte. Dieser Artikel beschäftigt sich mit den Höhen und Tiefen, die wir im Migrationsprozesses von Alephino nach Alma durchlebt haben und die Herausforderungen die wir als kleine Institution überwinden mussten.
