Abstract

Es geht bei der kapitalistischen Verwendungsweise des Computers um mehr als die skandalösen Erfassungs- und Kontrollaktivitäten, denn sie führt zu problematischen Veränderungen in vielen Lebensbereichen: Durch die Verallgemeinerung digitaler Techniken erodieren zivilisatorische Standards, veröden Alltagsbeziehungen und wird ein marktkonformer Lebensrhythmus durchgesetzt. Die Persönlichkeitsstruktur wird durch die "Computer-Praxis" so umgeformt, dass sie mit der ununterbrochenen Tätigkeit der Märkte und Informationsnetze übereinstimmt. Digital flankierte Anpassungsprozesse sind die aktuellen Mechanismen, mit denen der Kapitalismus sich jene Menschen schafft, die er für sein reibungsloses Funktionieren auf hochtechnologischer Grundlage benötigt.
