Abstract: Mit Sprachassistenten wie ChatGPT und Bard stehen seit kurzem Werkzeuge zur Verfügung, die natürlichsprachliche Eingaben (engl. prompts) verarbeiten und ebenso in natürlicher Sprache beantworten können. Nachdem der auf dem Large Language Model GPT-3.5 basierende KI-Sprachassistent ChatGPT im November 2022 von der Firma OpenAI veröffentlicht worden war, waren selbst KI-Expert*innen von dessen Leistungsfähigkeit überrascht. Seitdem ist die Entwicklung rasch vorangeschritten: Mitterweile ist das noch leistungsfähigere Sprachmodell GPT-4 veröffentlicht, und Google hat mit dem Sprachassistenten Bard nachgezogen. Es liegt nahe, diese Werkzeuge auch einmal hinsichtlich ihres mathematischen Potenzials zu untersuchen. Kann ChatGPT eine Rolle in der Mathematik spielen, etwa beim Lösen mathematischer Aufgaben?
