Abstract

Presents an account of how the Oregon Health Sciences University Library networked its access to OCLC using the TCP/IP network protocol. Discusses some technical aspects, e.g. the role played by the network servers and communications controller; and the way in which Macintosh users were connected to the network. Notes some of the benefits of networking OCLC access, e.g. the flexibility it brings to staff location and reduced costs in modem use
