Abstract

In der aktuellen Diskussion um das Bewusstsein und seine materiellen Trägerprozesse ist die Stimme der Phänomenologie selten zu vernehmen. Dabei ist für jede Art wissenschaftlichen Zugriffs auf das Thema "Bewusstsein" die Berücksichtigung seiner phänomenalen, subjektiv erlebbaren Aspekte unentbehrlich. Dies gilt für evolutionsbiologische, psychologische, neuro-physiologische Untersuchungen ebenso wie für die indirekten Thematisierungen durch Sprachanalyse und "Künstliche-Intelligenz-Forschung". Dieses Buch bündelt mit einer zusammenschauenden Einleitung Einzelstudien zu einer "konkreten Phänomenologie" menschlichen Bewusstseins, die in über dreissig Jahren des Umgangs mit dieser Thematik entstanden sind. Bewusstsein wird grundsätzlich als Manifestation des Lebens überhaupt verstanden - mit einer Evolution vom einfachsten Innewerden bis zur vieldimensionalen Bewusstseinssphäre beim Menschen. Behandelt werden hier aber vorwiegend Strukturen und Leistungen komplexer bewusstseinsgetragener Prozesse, die für die intersubjektive, kumulative Kulturentwicklung konstitutiv sind, aber im wissenschaftlichen Diskurs meist unterbelichtet bleiben - z.B. die Rolle von Bewusstsein in der Selbststeuerung ("Freiheit") des Handelns, in Intelligenzleistungen, im Zeiterleben, im Schönheitserfahren, im vergleichenden und intuitiv-diskursiven Erkennen, in geschichtlicher Sinngebung und utopischer Phantasie. "Metaphysische" Ausblicke gelten der möglichen kosmischen Bedeutung von Bewusstsein als Urmedium des Welt-Erscheinens.
