Abstract
Der vorliegende Aufsatz setzt auf kurzen, auch bei den Sitzungen des Rats für Deutschsprachige Terminologie (RaDT) geführten Diskussionen auf. Terminologiearbeit und Terminographie werden diskutiert, und es wird provokativ der Mehrwert von Terminographie postuliert. Im Beitrag werden hierzu die Entstehung der Terminologiearbeit skizziert, einige Vorgehensweisen und Methoden vorgestellt und im Hinblick auf den Kernprozess der mehrsprachigen Terminologiearbeit der Frage nachgegangen, wie der Sprung von der einen in die andere Sprache erfolgt. Im letzten Abschnitt schließlich werden verschiedene Lesarten von Terminographie vorgestellt, darunter auch die einer eigenen Disziplin.
